Since August 31, 2024, the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have been reeling from the devastating impact of severe flooding caused by relentless heavy rains. The rapid rise in river water levels and the discharge from dams have intensified the crisis, leading to widespread damage and displacing thousands of families. Entire communities have been submerged under water, and access to essential services has been cut off in many areas.

In Andhra Pradesh, districts like NTR, Krishna, Guntur, and Bapatla have been severely impacted, with homes, farms, and roads submerged under floodwaters. The overflowing reservoirs and rivers have devastated infrastructure, leaving people stranded without shelter or resources.

Similarly, Telangana is facing equally dire conditions. Districts such as Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahbubnagar, Suryapet, Warangal, and Mahabubabad are suffering the brunt of nature’s fury. Villages are underwater, and large-scale evacuations have been necessary to protect lives, but families have lost their homes, belongings, and sources of livelihood.

In the face of this immense crisis, Karunya Social Welfare Society has stepped forward to launch a fundraising drive to support flood relief efforts in these affected regions. Thousands of families are in urgent need of help to rebuild their lives after losing everything. These simple but critical supplies will help families restore a sense of dignity as they begin the long process of recovery.
